Lifestyle Factors

Characterization of lifestyle risk factors for ALS continues to be an important goal of ALS research.  Despite the fact that many studies have collected information on lifestyle factors such as cigarette smoking and physical activity, questionnaire methods were too dissimilar across studies for combined statistical analyses.  Collaborative reanalyses of such data across studies is an important goal for the future, and standardized methodology provided by ACES will provide the infrastructure for this approach.
